Simon Rogan, CEO of Sirocom comments, “Increasingly complex and dynamic business environments demand data visibility, and whilst partnerships between operators deliver the all essential access point, it is critical that the connection is facilitated and managed in a fast, secure and simple manner.”
He continues, “As part of our VNO proposition, collaborating with technology companies such as The Cloud to deliver a better service is critical, and is enabling over 100,000 Siroconnect users easy access to decision-making tools on the move, and greater flexibility and agility across their business.”
The Cloud’s wireless network covers key business venues in Europe including all the major UK airports as well as hotel chains, conference centres, train stations, coffee bars and urban zones such as the Canary Wharf business district in London. Nine UK city centre hotzones, including Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh, will also go live in the coming months, plus The Cloud’s City of London ‘Square Mile Network’ in late 2006.
“The business community has recognised the need to embrace mobile and wireless technologies as a means to increasing productivity and efficiency. The Cloud runs a neutral network that maximizes both the quality and choice available to customers, rather than subjecting them to a multiplicity of proprietary networks that are expensive, overlapping and inconvenient,” said George Polk, CEO, The Cloud.
The Cloud’s network is already live as part of the iPass Global broadband Roaming network, providing Siroconnect users with access to over 50,000 wireless hotspot locations around the world. As part of the integration process, Wi-Fi hotspots and urban hotzones in The Cloud’s network went through the rigorous iPass Enterprise Ready certification program. The program works to ensure interoperability with common policy and security tools that Siroconnect customers use.
