Argela, a leading next-generation telecom solution provider, today announced their alternative roaming solution has been launched by Turk Telekom. The service is called wireless roaming(WIRO) and enables customers to make calls from their dual-mode handsets with Wi-Fi support irrespective of their location, and also in the absence of a SIM card in the handset. In addition to dual mode handsets, WIRO can be used with PC and any SIP based phone. The service is available through the Internet and provides the users with very attractive tariffs, apart from enabling them to stay connected even if they are abroad. Although Turk Telekom is the incumbent fixed/line telecom operator in Turkey, WIRO removes the boundaries of coverage for the company and offers a perfect roaming solution to its customers.
Commenting on the issue Dr. Paul Doany, CEO of Turk Telekom, said:
WIRO added the always-carried on feature to the fixed phones. Now our customers can make calls wherever they are and they are charged by their fixed phone tariff. This definitely reduces the cost of communication.
Mr. Bulent Kaytaz, CEO of Argela said:
WIRO, being a service developed on Argela’s patented innovation Convergence Gateway, provides real benefits to the telecom operators. It definitely increases customer loyalty and provides a new revenue stream. We are happy to note that Turk Telekom is getting very positive feedback and we are very enthusiastic to support Turk Telekom even further in this convergence journey in the future.
