Meet Amylu a successful UK Glamour and Page 3 Model. She has been modelling for 3 years full time and thoroughly enjoys her job, however, she has now ventured into the business side of the industry rather than just in front of the camera! After being approached by a company named Real Interactive, Amylu decided to take up their offer and become the marketing and business development manager, within a month of starting her search.
The model is now running various modelling and networking sites. One of them being BeSinful, others include casual dating and social networking sites.
After achieving 16 GCSES and 3 A-levels Amylu Bennett decided she wanted to give the glamour industry a run for its money ‘One day I was sat in my sixth form area looking at a Lads Magazine and thought I would love to do that! I’m going to do that!’
When her friends went off to University Amylu went off to topless photo shoots, her first being a few days after her 18th birthday. ‘I wasnt afraid to go topless, it was just something I wanted to do, I couldnt wait to turn 18 for that reason! People, especially girls criticised me for wanting to be a topless model which was difficult at first’
After a year or so of modelling Amylu soon realised she was a growing success and starred in Playboy and became a page 3 girl for the Sun newspaper. ‘The day I got on page 3 was the best day of my life, sounds silly but that’s how much it meant to me, I was told the day before I was going in the paper so I already knew! I got up really early and ran down the shop and bought 5 papers. The shop assistant thought I was crazy!’
After appearing in the Sun Amylu started to get magazine shoots regularly and didn’t have time for another job. She was in London most weeks and also shooting abroad for page 3 and her own calendar. ‘I didn’t really have time for another job at first, but as time went on I started to realise I couldn’t do this job forever and that I hadn’t ever had any other occupation! I put my CV up on a few job websites and forgot about it to be honest’
A few months ago Amylu received an email from Tim Rees who had seen her CV and was interested in talking further about them teaming up. Tim is the successful owner and founder of Real Interactive, a company he had set up concentrating on online dating websites.
Amylu met Tim to talk further about the job offer and within an hour of talking, Amylu and Tim agreed to work together on his projects.
‘I was initially looking for someone with a marketing background and experience in online business development and management. Because the websites were linked to the glamour industry Amylu’s CV was very interesting and completely unique -‘ I realised it may be alot easier to promote the sites through someone who has experience and knowledge in this market’
Amylu is now the face of BeSinful aswell as the business development manager and is enjoying both sides of the coin. ‘I am getting to model for the website, market my face around the industry but also help other models to become successful through the site. I am getting new models into a studio once a month and helping them pose aswell as giving them guidelines and tips for their careers. I’m also in charge of the marketing, managing, newsletters and development of the site and find it very rewarding to see the members that are flowing into the site everyday!’
The page 3 girl has already proven her value to Real Interactive and Tim. ‘Member and model registrations as well as media uploads have continually increased since Amylu joined us’ . Amylu has also suggested many improvements and other marketing ideas like trade shows for the future. ‘I’m very pleased to have her in the team and together we have already planned several sites which will be launched in the near future’
‘If there is one thing that I hate about the human race’ says Amylu, ‘It’s that we all stereotype. Glamour models are automatically associated with the dumb blonde wannabe WAGS, of course that may be correct for some but not all! I’m glad I am able to show that it’s possible to have boobs as well as brains and I hope Real Interactive continues to grow with my modelling career.’
