Telenity, today announced that Ahmet Ozalp has been named Chief Executive Officer effective June 8th, 2009. Ozalp brings nearly two decades of experience in telecommunications, wireless and digital media industries, as an executive, technologist and venture capitalist.

With over 15 years of industry experience, Akif Arsoy also joins Telenity effective June 8th, 2009 as Vice President of Product Management reporting directly to the CEO. Arsoy brings vast industry experience in product development and management and he will further improve the product life-cycle, planning, product launch and go-to-market processes for Telenity’s product portfolio globally, and drive its profitable growth.

About Ahmet Ozalp
Most recently, Ahmet Ozalp was a Partner at Atlas Venture, an early stage venture capital, where he focused on investments in telecommunications, wireless and digital media. While at Atlas, Ozalp led investments in several startup companies including Extend Media and Myvu Corporation, where he still holds board seats. Ozalp also worked closely and had board level involvement with Ellacoya Networks (acquired by Arbor Networks), Isilon (IPO, Nasdaq:ISLN) and Gotuit Media. Before joining Atlas, Ozalp was VP of Marketing at Narad Networks, a VC-backed start-up company in the broadband access and cable infrastructure space, which was acquired by Ciena (Nasdaq:CIEN). Prior to Narad, Ozalp was a management consultant for Bain & Company in its technology and media practice working extensively with telecommunications equipment vendors, service providers and digital media companies.
In the earlier part of his career, Ahmet Ozalp spent six years at NewNet, a telecom startup, which was acquired by ADC (Nasdaq:ADCT) during his tenure. At NewNet, Ozalp was a member of the founding team who created the industry’s first low cost, UNIX based SS7 platform and one of the first short messaging systems. He held successive positions as software engineer, product manager and director of engineering. While at ADC, Ozalp was the Product Line Director of the Advanced Wireless Intelligent Networks Group. He holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an MS in EE from Columbia University.
About Akif Arsoy
Most recently, Akif Arsoy was the senior product manager at VeriSign’s Communications Group overseeing the products related to peering, SIP trunking and fixed mobile convergence. Prior to Verisign, Arsoy served as Director of Engineering at Sentito Networks managing the group building a line access gateway. Previously, Arsoy held engineering, product management and sales engineering positions at SS8, ADC, NewNet and EBS. Arsoy holds an MBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, BS in Mathematics and BSEE from Drexel University.
