London, 17 March 2010 – CompTIA, the leading provider of vendor neutral skills certifications for the world’s information technology (IT) workforce, today announced the availability of a Turkish-language version of its flagship CompTIA A+ certification, the industry standard for computer support technicians.
CompTIA A+ is an internationally-recognized, vendor-neutral certification that validates competence in areas such as computer installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting. More than 725,000 IT professionals around the world are CompTIA A+ certified.
“CompTIA A+ remains the best credential individuals can secure to launch a career an IT,” said Matthew Poyiadgi, vice president, Europe, CompTIA. “The exams deliver a comprehensive measurement of the core competencies and knowledge that should be a part of any IT professional’s skill set.”
To attain the certification candidates must pass two exams. CompTIA A+ Essentials measures the necessary competencies of an IT professional with a recommended 500 hours of hands-on experience in the lab or field. CompTIA A+ Practical Applications is an extension of the knowledge and skills identified in CompTIA A+ Essentials with more of a “hands-on” orientation focused on scenarios in which troubleshooting and tools must be applied to resolve problems.
