The Supermicro based workstation is one of the first to feature SLI – or Scalable Link Interface – a configuration which allows twin PCI-Express ports to mount dual NVIDIA 6800 graphics boards, and load-share the task of real time rendering. The result is unprecedented image rendering performance. The demonstration forms part of Barco’s Technology Showcase at London’s 3 Mills Studios, and will allow Televirtual to operate it’s new animated TV presentation system at HDTV compatible resolution.
Televirtual’s RAP, or Real time Animation Pipeline system, will feature live puppeteering of multiple characters in a virtual TV studio, with live cameras and lighting effects. Barco’s revolutionary new high-definition, network centric projector, the Barco iCon H600 will handle the state-of-the-art display.
The Televirtual RAP development is both a Live to Air animated TV presentation system, and a low cost production pipeline system for conventional animated drama sequences.
