The team at Interdean, who have worked significantly with expats relocating overseas, have responded to results of a new survey which investigated the reasons expats move to particular destinations.
An article published by iExpats has revealed the results of a new survey which looked into the factors that influence expat’s choice of location for their new home overseas. Job security received 43% of the votes, while low crime rates and political stability received 39% and 38% respectively. The study also revealed that health insurance is considered to be important, with 22% of expats voting health insurance as crucial.
Looking into the most popular countries for expats, the study discovered that the USA and Canada were the most popular, with Austria, Germany, and Switzerland placed second with 29% of votes. Australia and New Zealand followed closely behind with 28%.
As an international removals company with more than fifty years’ experience helping expats relocate, Interdean explored the recent statistics into reasons behind expats moving to particular locations. A spokesperson for the company shared their thoughts on the survey:
“There are many reasons for moving overseas from a higher quality of life to improved weather. With so many countries to choose from around the world it can sometimes be difficult to choose a destination, but there are often a number of important factors to consider and this research serves to highlight the number of important factors expats consider when they are moving abroad.
It is no surprise that job security receives a significant proportion of the votes as the most common reason for expats moving to a certain location. For those moving overseas who are concerned about finding employment, searching for countries with expanding markets and a need for expertise in your field can help to increase future employment prospects. Yet this research emphasises how other factors such as low crime rates and healthcare are also important for expats. We look forward to following further research into factors considered by those moving overseas.”
